The confirmed movement is smaller and useful: a supporting character enters the mission with agency rather than simply following Ichi. ## Discovery moves to Jump+ The print issue launches no serial, but the wider ecosystem does. Shonen Jump+ published the first chapter of [みことはこ (Mikotohako)]() by Shintaro Tengan on 4 August, with weekly Tuesday updates announced. Its official premise pairs Mikoto, a boy whose mother was lost to a curse, with Hako, a box-faced girl, as they clash their way into spirit extermination. That distinction keeps this week's discovery field honest. Weekly Shonen Jump uses an anniversary one-shot rather than a debut; Jump+ adds an ongoing series one day later. The pipeline is active, just not in one place. ## The combined issue shifts the front again The [official No. 37-38 preview]() schedules the combined issue for 10 August with Akane-banashi in the lead-colour slot. Kohei Horikoshi returns with the 61-page centre-colour one-shot Quit Laughing, Shijima, while Someone Hertz and Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi also receive centre colours. > [!CAUTION] > **Correction - 10 August 2026** > > An earlier version said Akane-banashi received the No. 37-38 cover. No. 36 gives a young comedy the cover; No. 37-38 gives an established performance manga the opening position on an ensemble issue and adds a major creator's one-shot beside it. ## Hot because the chapter justifies the slot No. 36 earns a Hot reading without becoming a landmark issue. No serial begins or ends in print, and a cover cannot prove Roku safe. The stronger evidence is alignment: the magazine puts Roku first, and Roku uses that attention to define its limits rather than chase a more familiar shape. Last week's question was whether Roku's promotion represented a real editorial commitment. No. 36 answers that narrow question: yes, for now. Chapter 17 answers the more interesting one.
