That restoration makes No. 35 feel substantial, but it is not the issue's clearest movement. The [official No. 36 preview]() gives its next cover and lead colour to Roku's House of Oddities at Chapter 17. The established names bring the audience back; Jump immediately spends its next premium slot on a 16-chapter horror comedy. That does not prove Roku is a breakout. The official preview supplies no survey, sales or circulation figures; it only describes the response as unexpectedly strong. The cover and lead colour are, however, observable editorial decisions. Akane-banashi appears immediately after the colour programme and one-shot, while Ichi the Witch remains in the upper third. Neither thread measures the Japanese survey, but together they show where the available English conversation found uncomplicated momentum this week. ## Centre colours consolidate existing lanes Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi's centre colour supports a new arc and the approach of Japanese Volume 9. The [official series record]() dates its launch to No. 30 in 2024, making Chapter 102 evidence of an established two-year serial rather than a new bench prospect. Nue's Exorcist receives the other serial centre colour at Chapter 155, tied to its current Level 4 confrontation. That distinction matters. A centre colour can celebrate an arc, a volume or continuing support. It is not automatically a rescue signal, and it cannot be compared directly with a cover and lead colour handed to a title before its first collected volume has settled. ## Discovery stays active without becoming a launch No. 35 gives 47 pages and a centre colour to 七不思議先輩と鉄人くん by Yuki Kawaguchi, the creator of Otr of the Flame. Shueisha describes it as a youth horror-battle one-shot. This is a meaningful return to the main magazine for a previously serialised creator, but the issue makes no promise that the story will continue. Shonen Jump+ adds a separate early-week discovery: [KILL THE ANGEL]() by 小雨詠, published on 27 July as a June 2026 Bronze Rookie Award winner. Its official premise follows a boy bound by his mother's final instruction to kill an angel. Like the print one-shot, it belongs to the talent pipeline, not the permanent serial roster. ## Roku is the actual movement Roku's House of Oddities sits tenth in No. 35 with [Chapter 16](). Mitsushi Nakamura's supernatural comedy began in [Weekly Shonen Jump No. 19]() on 6 April. The next-issue preview calls its response unexpectedly strong and promotes Chapter 17 to the No. 36 cover and lead colour. That is the week's clearest editorial commitment. The wording is Shueisha's promotion, not independently verified popularity data, but the slot itself is observable. Roku moves from an uncoloured middle position to the front of the following issue while One Piece, Kagurabachi, Sakamoto Days and HUNTER×HUNTER are all active around it. Chapter 16 also makes the promotion arrive at a tonal hinge. The [English-language thread]() welcomed its first sustained action while repeatedly asking whether the series would retain its episodic comedy. The chapter still builds jokes into the confrontation, and Roku's stated aim is salvation rather than simple exorcism. The open question is not whether action has appeared, but how much of the series it will occupy. No. 36 adds further pull with a new 36-page Kochikame chapter for the series' 50th anniversary, plus centre colours for Shinobi Undercover and Under Doctor. Roku nevertheless owns the cover. In a week filled with safer anniversary and established-series choices, that allocation is difficult to miss. ## Hot because the editorial intent is visible No. 35 earns a Hot reading through accumulation rather than one landmark event. Two headliners return, Sakamoto Days receives the full front-of-book treatment, three spoiler sections generate distinct kinds of momentum, two one-shots keep discovery active, and the next issue makes a concrete bet on a young title. It stops below Landmark because nothing permanent has changed yet. No serial launches or ends, Roku's cover cannot establish long-term safety, and the strongest chapter reactions remain partial international samples rather than market evidence. Last week asked whether Jump's bench could hold attention while the stars were away. This week gives a more selective answer. Someone Hertz keeps an upper position, Class 2-B Hero Destroyerz falls back, and Roku receives the next cover.
