Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity begins on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The three-day estimate is correct: VIZ lists the international premiere for 14:30 UTC, while the Japanese television broadcast starts at 23:00 JST on TV Tokyo.

That international time converts to 17:30 in Cyprus. It is a useful reference, but not yet a guarantee that the episode will be available locally at that moment.

Where The Calamity will stream

In the United States, VIZ says The Calamity will stream weekly on Hulu on Disney+. Outside the US, Disney+ has the international rights, with English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, German and French subtitles announced.

The important qualification is VIZ’s wording: Disney+ will carry the series in “select international markets”. No complete country list accompanied the announcement, and no licensed Cyprus-specific service has been named. Viewers in Cyprus should therefore check Disney+ and VIZ’s official listings when the episode goes live rather than assume local availability. No Crunchyroll release has been announced.

How much Bleach do you need to catch up on?

The Calamity is the fourth and final part of Thousand-Year Blood War, not a new starting point. The first three parts contain 40 episodes in total, and the official story index ends at episode 40. Watching those 40 episodes remains the cleanest preparation.

For somebody completely new to Bleach, starting here is difficult to recommend. Thousand-Year Blood War directly concludes the story of the original 366-episode television series; it assumes that its cast, relationships and history are already familiar.

The most interesting promise is not simply which fights remain, but how the adaptation will give each one a distinct rhythm and scale.

What remains unconfirmed

Three practical details remain open before the premiere: the final episode count, a complete Disney+ territory list and the timing of any dubbed release. VIZ’s current notice confirms subtitles, but it should not be read as confirmation of a same-day English dub.

What I am looking forward to

Personally, what I am most looking forward to is seeing whether The Calamity can give Bleach’s ending more room to breathe. I remember the manga’s final stretch feeling rushed, especially as major fights and reveals arrived one after another without always receiving the time they deserved. I do not necessarily need a completely different conclusion; I want the anime to develop those confrontations more fully and deliver an ending that feels more satisfying.

For caught-up viewers, the useful answer is simple: The Calamity starts on 25 July and continues weekly. For everyone else, the final cour is better treated as a deadline for a focused refresher than as an invitation to skip directly to Bleach’s ending.
