The Off-Model Cut: The Summer 2026 Rotation

This first Off-Model Cut sets the plan for the rest of summer and the opening weeks of autumn: keep the reliable weekly habits, resolve the trials that have lingered, and move only a small number of queued titles into active rotation. The board is a set of commitments, not a ranking.

It is also deliberately incomplete. The Cut follows better-known anime and manga universes where continuity makes stopping, restarting or catching up meaningful. A one-off Netflix watch, a standalone film, a light novel or an exploratory volume may never appear here. Absence does not mean something was not watched or read. Recommendation pieces such as Five Manga Beyond Cyprus’s Main Shelf can cover work that has been read and valued without turning every title into a tracked commitment.

The plan through September

The immediate anime priorities are Gachiakuta, Fire Force and Black Clover. Gachiakuta needs enough episodes beyond 12 to show whether its premise and visual direction can sustain a longer run. Fire Force needs a firm keep-or-drop decision rather than an indefinite trial after episode 6. Black Clover needs a refresher on the first anime’s ending before season 2 begins.

Hell’s Paradise and Sakamoto Days do not need that uncertainty. Both anime adaptations earned red positions on the Netsu gauge because they are firm continuations whenever new material is available. One Piece remains the stable weekly appointment, while Frieren stays active at an irregular pace rather than being forced into a false weekly target.

Bleach remains caught up until Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity provides the final anime step. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc also needs a proper place in the schedule rather than another vague intention to watch it. By the next Cut, both should have either moved or have a clear external reason for waiting.

Manga commitments run on different clocks

Sakamoto Days stays weekly rather than moving into a collected-volume rhythm. It is red on the Netsu gauge because that schedule is already a habit.

Kagurabachi is equally firm but deliberately slower. It stays tied to the physical tankōbon shelf rather than the weekly chapter cycle. One Piece follows a third rhythm: the manga has been read through Egghead and should resume only after enough uninterrupted story has accumulated to make a substantial return worthwhile.

The Manga queue is intentionally short. Hell’s Paradise needs a choice between the coloured and original black-and-white editions before it can move. Solo Leveling remains a possible start, not a promise. Neither should be promoted merely to make the board look busy.

A gauge, not another status

Netsu means heat. Here it is a four-colour continuation signal: red marks the firmest plan, orange a likely continuation, cyan an unresolved one and blue a title most at risk of leaving the rotation. The status still answers where a title is; the gauge answers how secure its next step feels.

Only active, paced and caught-up titles receive the gauge. Queue entries have not earned a forecast, while finished and dropped titles already have an answer.

What must move before the next Cut

The next edition will check these commitments rather than quietly replacing them:

• Continue Gachiakuta beyond episode 12 and reach a clear keep-or-drop decision.
• Give Fire Force a meaningful second block, then end its trial status.
• Begin the Black Clover refresher and make visible progress on Frieren.
• Watch Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and watch Bleach: The Calamity when each is available.
• Choose a Hell’s Paradise manga edition and either start it or leave it honestly parked.
• Keep Sakamoto Days weekly, Kagurabachi volume-led and One Piece manga batched.
• Move no more than one of My Hero Academia, Vinland Saga, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or Hunter × Hunter from the Anime queue.

The queue is open, but selective

Readers can suggest another continuity-heavy anime or manga through Off Model’s contact page. The useful pitch is not simply a favourite title: explain why it would reward continued tracking and where a reader should begin. Suggestions can enter the queue, but they do not become automatic obligations.

The next Cut does not need a cleared board. It needs evidence that the plan changed something: a trial decided, a return started, a queue choice made or a title deliberately left alone. That is the record worth carrying into autumn.
